Eragon is the first book in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. It was released in 2002 (first edition) The re-published version was released 26 August, 2003 by Doubleday.
Plot[]
Eragon is about a 15 year old boy who finds a dragon egg whilst out hunting. He takes it home to sell it for food but no trader will buy it. So he is forced to keep it. but a few days later it hatches and he names the dragon saphira.
A few days later two strangers come to town and start asking about the egg.
Film Adaptation[]
The film was made by 20th century fox in 2007. Eragon was played by Ed Speelers and Saphira's voice was done by Rachel Weisz. The film has been criticized by fans for deviating too far from the original plotline by changing fundamental aspects of the story.
